Mentari Therapeutics secured a $200 million private placement to accelerate development of its next-generation migraine prevention pipeline.

The financing is expected to fund the company into 2029 and support Phase 2a clinical readouts for its two lead programs targeting PACAP, an emerging migraine pathway independent of the well-established CGRP target (a small protein released by nerves in the head and neck that spikes during a migraine).

One candidate is a monoclonal antibody against PACAP, while the other is a bispecific antibody targeting both PACAP and CGRP, a strategy that could benefit patients who don't respond adequately to existing CGRP-based therapies.
