This powerful new blood test could change the game for Alzheimer's detection and treatment, plus news from Cumulus and Muse.

Alamar Biosciences launched what it says is the first blood-based test capable of measuring MTBR-tau alongside seven other Alzheimer's biomarkers from a single blood sample.

The new assay is designed for research use and could help scientists track tau pathology, amyloid buildup, inflammation, and other biological changes more efficiently than running multiple separate tests.

As Alzheimer's drug development accelerates, tools that provide a more complete picture of disease progression using a simple blood draw are becoming increasingly valuable for clinical trials. Here’s more: https://substack.com/home/post/p-205987920.

Cumulus Neuroscience and Muse announced an at-home EEG sleep monitoring system for clinical trials for neurological diseases, allowing researchers to collect medical-grade brain activity and sleep data without requiring patients to spend nights in specialized sleep labs.

By making it easier to monitor participants remotely and more frequently, the partnership could improve the quality of data collected in studies involving Alzheimer's disease, depression, Parkinson's disease, and other central nervous system disorders while reducing the burden on patients. French biopharmaceutical firm Ipsen announced that Dysport, a prescription botulinum toxin injection commonly used to treat muscle disorders and reduce facial wrinkles, met the primary endpoints in two Phase 3 clinical trials evaluating it as a preventive treatment for both episodic and chronic migraine. This makes it the first therapy in its class to report positive late-stage results in both patient populations.

If approved, Dysport could significantly expand beyond its current neurological and aesthetic uses, giving physicians another botulinum toxin option in a migraine market that affects millions of people worldwide. Did You Know?

Did you know that a new randomized clinical trial found that a ketogenic diet may improve both metabolic health and psychiatric symptoms in people with schizophrenia-spectrum and bipolar I disorders?

While it's not a cure and should never replace prescribed treatment, researchers say the findings add to growing evidence that nutrition could play a supportive role in managing serious mental illness.
